Dengue is a fever that is caused by the virus named dengue. It is a tropical mosquito-borne disease. The symptoms of the problem are not observed in the first few days. It takes at least three days to fourteen days to appear as a disease. There are several problems associated with this disease like high fever, vomiting, joint pains, headache, muscle pain, skin rash, etc. You can find dengue-related scientific explanations and the price of the test.

The test itself

Generally, the test is known as the dengue test within the common people. Though, the test is scientifically known as the Nucleic acid amplification test or NAAT test.

Preparation for the test

It is required that the patient should not be on fasting on the day of the test. If the patient is taking some medication from before wards, it is advisable for the patient to let the doctor know about the previous prescription.

Sample collection

A blood sample is taken to go for the test. This blood sample is collected mainly from the veins of the arm. Instead of a needle price, there is no other pain associated with the test.

Additional caution

If someone is suffering from the disease or the test result has come positive, it is necessary to avoid contact with the disease-infected person. Their accessories and utensils should be separated from other healthy persons and should maintain distance from other people.

Other associated tests

If a patient is having dengue, only the dengue test is not enough in most of the cases. There are some allied tests that are associated with this disease. The related tests which might come when the NAAT (dengue) test is positive are, CBC, typhoid test, and peripheral smear for malarial parasite.

The Dengue test price has been fixed at 500 taka in Bangladesh. Though it has been previously one thousand taka per test but the government has downsized the price to half for convenience to the vast number of people of Bangladesh.
